We are thrilled to announce that a new season of the Novel Feelings podcast will launch on January 7, 2023.
We’re mixing things up for Season 3. Listeners will have the opportunity to read along, with each book title released at least 6 weeks in advance. Six books are planned for the year – one episode every two months. Episodes will also be accessible to people who haven’t read the book yet, as the first half will be spoiler-free. And we’ll be asking our audience questions via Instagram.
We’re talking about mental health more than ever these days. Books have the power to increase empathy and understanding around mental ill-health. But if things go wrong, books can perpetuate stereotypes and stigma. Novel Feelings has a unique and important voice in the literacy review space – and we want to keep our voices in the mix!
We have a diverse range of books lined up, including fiction and non-fiction, books from Australian and international authors, and even a middle grade book.
The first book is Jennette McCurdy’s acclaimed biography, I’m Glad My Mom Died. Themes include family trauma, disordered eating, and alcohol use. If you haven’t already read it, grab yourself a copy ahead of January 7!
